The North Oxfordshire Model Aircraft Club

NOMAC was started in 1985 and originally flew on Enstone Airfield. The Club is now fortunate to have a wide membership of experienced and novice fliers who enjoy sole use of an excellent flying site.

Chipping Norton Airfield: The entrance is through green, double metal gates, 1 mile South of Chipping Norton off the B4026 Chipping Norton to Charlbury road .
It is about 12 miles from Banbury and 15 miles from Oxford. You are welcome to come and see us - a Sunday afternoon with good weather is most suitable. We keep the gate locked when the site is not being used.
This excellent site has a hard road for access, concrete parking and pits areas, a tarmac runway and an adjacent mown grass patch. On entering the gates follow the track to the left and park on the clear concrete area.
The site meets the needs of Large Scale Modellers and they are very welcome. The Club has a new headquarters facility that is heated and provides comfortable shelter with facilities for model assembly and adjustment, seating and hot food and drink.
The site is available for flying at all times during daylight after 09:00hrs (finishing at 1800hrs on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evenings). It is essential that models are properly silenced.
Transmitter control is by a “Peg On” pegboard, a scanning monitor covering most 35MHz channels is available.
The Club has fliers of both fixed wing (power, scale, glider and electric) models and helicopters. Experienced members will advise on initial model set-up and provide training assistance when possible. Novice members are always welcome and can be given full training in the proper construction and flying of fixed wing models.
Junior members and all visitors remain the responsibility of the adult accompanying them to the field, in accordance with British Model Flying Association (BMFA) Guidelines.
The Club is fully affiliated to the BMFA, and all Club members are therefore required to be BMFA members. There are many benefits of Club affiliation, including the ability to take part in National Competitions and Third Party insurance cover up to £5M liability anywhere in this country and abroad. Please note that Club Facilities may not be used for commercial purposes.
The Club organises normal Club member activities including tests for the BMFA 'A' and 'B' Flying Proficiency Certificates.
